Asyst
Technologies, Inc. Completes Acquisition of Semifab, Inc.

Fremont,
CA, February 13, 2001 -Asyst Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq
NM: ASYT), the world's largest semiconductor fab automation company,
announced that effective today, it has completed its acquisition
of Semifab, Inc. (Hollister, Calif.). Semifab is a provider of process
environmental-control systems and outsourcing capabilities with annual
revenues for the period ended December 31, 2000 of approximately
$21 million. In tandem with the recently announced acquisition of
Advanced Machine Programming, Asyst expects Semifab to be an integral
part of its pioneering automation foundry model aimed at semiconductor
equipment manufacturers. Semifab is now a wholly owned subsidiary
of Asyst.
The acquisition was originally announced
on December 7, 2000. Under the terms of the agreement, Asyst
acquired Semifab in a forward subsidiary merger, with merger
consideration of $5 million in cash and 1.4 million shares of
Asyst stock.
