Asyst Technologies Schedules Fiscal Year 2001 Fourth Quarter & Year-End
Financial Results Press Release & Conference Call for May 2, 2001

Fremont,
CA, April 23, 2001 - Asyst Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq
NM: ASYT), the world's largest semiconductor fab automation company,
will announce financial results for fiscal year 2001 fourth quarter
and year-end (quarter ended March 30, 2001) after the market closes
on Wednesday, May 2, 2001.
Mihir Parikh, chairman and chief
executive officer, and Doug McCutcheon, senior vice president
and chief financial officer, will host a conference call at 5:00
p.m. EDT (2:00 p.m. PDT) to discuss the company's operating performance.
