Asyst
Continues Its Series Of "300mm Automation"
Seminars
On October 22-24, 2002

Three-Day GW Associates Seminar Addresses Practical
Implementation of SECS/GEM Communication Protocols in Semiconductor
Manufacturing Equipment, Fabs and Test-Assembly
Over its 18 years of pioneering integrated automation
technology for the semiconductor manufacturing industry, Asyst
has conducted more than 100 seminars in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
As SEMI standards evolve, such as those covering 300mm fabs, Asyst
has been a leader in designing seminars that address the latest
key issues in automation. GW Associates, an Asyst Technologies
company and the leader in SECS/GEM standard communication software
technology, has designed the SECS and GEM Implementation Seminar
in cooperation with Secrest Research.

The GW SECS and GEM Implementation Seminar
This intensive three-day seminar addresses the practical implementation
of SECS/GEM communication protocols in semiconductor manufacturing
equipment, in fab and in test-assembly. The seminar describes the details
of the SEMI Standards SECS-I, SECS-II, GEM, and HSMS-SS. The new 300mm
wafer-processing equipment software standards such as Carrier Management,
Object Services, Substrate Tracking, Control Job, and Process Job are
covered in detail.
The semiconductor industry is leading the electronics manufacturing
industry in the development and implementation of SECS and
GEM protocols for equipment-level communications. SECS/GEM
with HSMS-SS were chosen in order to meet the demands of
transferring equipment-generated data, as well as the actual
management of the equipment as it is used in semiconductor
manufacturing. SECS and GEM protocols are also utilized in
other industries such as disk and head manufacturing, circuit
board manufacturing, hybrid assembly and pharmaceutical processing.
